Paraguayan President Mario Abdo Benitez announced that there will be a renewable diesel plant on the banks of the Rio Paraguay. The facility will be capable of producing more than 2.5 million litres of renewable diesel per day and will be powered by renewable energy. Work on the facility will start this year and should be finished as soon as 2022, according to the Brazilian investment holding company the ECB Group, who run the project.
It will be the first of its kind biofuel project in South America. It’s great news for Quadriz because our oil-producing trees are also located next to the Rio Paraguay, making it even easier to refine the crude oil from our trees into renewable diesel.
