Paraguay’s carbon market is taking a major step toward consolidation with the establishment of the Paraguayan Chamber for Carbon Credit Development and Trade (CAPADECO). This landmark initiative represents a historic advancement for the country’s environmental and business sectors, bringing together key stakeholders committed to climate action and sustainable development.
CAPADECO was founded through a collaborative agreement between Quadriz Paraguay S.A., Atenil S.A., the Paraguayan Industrial Union (UIP), Carbon Market Coalition (CMC), Ecosecurities, and the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MADES). The organization aims to strengthen transparency and foster closer cooperation between the public and private sectors in the generation and trading of carbon credits.

Within this framework, Quadriz holds the Vice Presidency of CAPADECO, represented by Gabriela Viñales, who brings extensive experience in carbon market and sustainability projects development both locally and internationally. Her leadership underscores the company’s commitment to generating long-term environmental and social value.
The newly established chamber aims to promote high-quality standards, encourage international project certification, and strengthen Paraguay’s sustainability ecosystem, positioning the country as a regional leader in climate action and carbon credit initiatives.
With the launch of CAPADECO, the carbon market in Paraguay is advancing toward greater professionalism and openness, attracting new investments and opportunities for carbon credit initiatives that deliver positive impacts for communities and the environment nationwide.
